The MO.CO. (Centre d’art contemporain de Montpellier) and Château Capion present the exhibition of Samuel Spone, winner of the artistic residency at the Domaine d’Aniane.
Château Capion launches the Apér’O château. Three evenings, on Thursdays 10, 17 and 24 September to enjoy the end of the summer with the delicious tapas of Chef EMI and the good music of Guila Selecta’.
Every Saturday, enjoy the summer by tasting the estate’s wines accompanied by seafood in the shady park of the castle. The shucker Adrien Guillard, son of an oyster farmer on the Thau Lagoon, offers oysters and other shellfish from the Thau Lagoon and the open Mediterranean Sea.

After his writing residency in 2019, Samuel Covel is back at Château Capion.
Flamboyant poet and guitarist, the Hérault singer-songwriter Samuel Covel is pushing his time in an avid embrace. On a scorched floor where the sounds of an exalted guitar blend with impressionistic poetry, cicadas are singing and chanting for their final molt.
Influenced by the rock/folk of the 70s (Led Zepplin, King Crimson, Neil Young, Tom Waits), some poets of the 19th century (Rimbaud, Baudelaire, Walt Whitman) and some leading artists of the French scene (Babx, Noir Désir, Bashung, Léo Ferré…).
A universe of verses and flesh where poems sung in hybrid atmospheres are born.
If you like : Noir Désir & Rimbaud, Bashung & Baudelaire, the starry sky of Aniane and the Itinéraires Bis.

“Corridor” exhibition

A graduate of the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Montpellier ESBA MO.CO., Samuel Spone is the third artist to be welcomed in the framework of the residencies Hors les murs du MO.CO. at Château Capion. After a month and a half of immersion residency in the wine estate of Aniane, Samuel Spone presents his exhibition Corridor, Saturday, September 12: a set of recent and unpublished works produced in situ.
In his paintings, drawings and photograms, he uses accidents related to the chemical reactions of inks, tar and bleach. He draws his artistic references from literature, cinema and graffiti.
Samuel Spone was born in 1992. He lives and works between Montpellier, Arles and Sète.

Outdoor terrace. Tables inside the castle in case of bad weather. Wearing of the mask is mandatory when moving out of the table.
Cheffe EMI : after having been the chef of several restaurants around Montpellier, Cheffe EMI is now going solo to share his creative cuisine with Mediterranean and exotic flavors. She selects local seasonal products.
For the Apér’O château she will propose two formulas:
– tapas (the perfect egg from the Pic Saint-Loup with a curry of Paimpol coconut beans, mackerel rillettes with Creole spices, goat’s cheese samossas from the Hort farm in Argelliers…).
– “tapas cagette” to share with 2 people : 20 €.
Guila Selecta’: an inveterate chaser of musical nuggets, Guila Selecta’ mixes with old-fashioned talent, to the sound of the vinyl groove alone. He will embark us for three evenings mixed between jazz, soul, funk, Afro-Latin music and French sound of the 60/70s.
